Barrett earns Knicks comeback win

So far this season it's been the Julius Randle show for the Knicks but last nights game was a rare disappointment for the former Laker. However, that didn't stop New York from erasing an 11 point deficit heading into the final quarter to win by four points.

The Wizards started hot with Bradley Beal & Hachimura leading the way for Washington who went in at half-time with a fifteen point lead, last season that would've meant it was job done but coach Thibs Knicks are different and once they are within touching distance they still have a chance.

The Knicks would usually rely on Randle's offense to get them back in the game but instead RJ Barrett was the main man for New York along with crucial bench points from Burks & Quickley. After knocking just four points off the half time deficit in the third quarter it came down to winning in clutch time for the Knicks, with Barrett, Quickley & Randle all making crucial buckets in the final minutes of the game to erase the deficit and claim a second victory over Washington in three days.

Alec Burks was once again crucial for the Knicks off the bench, he is currently on a run of four straight games of 20+ points from the bench and racked up 15 of 27 points in the fourth on Thursday night. Free throw shooting proving crucial in New York, Burks & Barrett alone split 22 free throw attempts

Knicks defense:

The Knicks defense was once again crucial to their victory after giving up 60 first half points they managed to restrict the Wizards to just 42 in the second half as they put up 61 themselves.

For the first time in years the Knicks are now a team that are hard to beat, there are no more blowouts or offensive nightmares. Tom Thibodeau has brought his philosophy to New York, the players have bought in and things are looking up.

There are still a number of question marks regarding RJ Barrett but last night he showed that when push comes to shove he is capable of stepping up. In Thursday's game, Barrett led the Knicks in rebounds and assists, putting up 24 points 10 rebounds 5 assists & 3 steals.

Still a long way to go in RJ's development but when he's putting on performances like this at 20 its only right to get excited!
